Choosing a greenhouse
Question:
Which greenhouse for under $1000 that has the highest wind resistance? The area we live in can occasionally get gusts up to 80 mph. Is there a way to strengthen the frame? Are the windows strong enough for that? I appreciate all the information you can give.
Answer:
I would suggest the Juliana Basic 600 for the best greenhouse under $1000. 80 mph winds will do damage on the majority of greenhouses. You may have to strengthen the frame will aluminum supports. I would also suggest the greenhouse site (if possible) to be somewhat protected near a house, fence or garage.
Choosing a greenhouse
Question:
I would like a greenhouse kit that is 8 feet wide, by 16 feet long, by 30 foot high, and only has 3 of the walls... (basically, a greenhouse cut in half), because I would like to attach a 1/2 of a greenhouse to the back of my home. do you have such a kit or could you configure one?
Answer:
I'm sorry we do not have any greenhouse models that match your specifications. I would contact a local contractor and see what they may able to do.
Choosing a greenhouse
Question:
I live in Big Sky, Montana. I was wondering what would be the best greenhouse for my area.
Answer:
If you are looking for durability against strong winds I would recommend the Riga or Sunshine series. You can find them on the following links:

Mt. Hood questions
Question:
I am interested in purchasing the Mt. Hood but am concerned about how I would anchor the unit to a concrete slab I was planning to have done soon. Without knowing what type of anchors to set in the concrete and where the anchors should go, I am concerned that I may have to cancel my scheduled concrete pad job, or look for another greenhouse.
I would appreciate any assistance at your earliest convenience regarding the type and location of anchoring for the 6' X 8' Mt. Hood. (I did not see anywhere that there was an achor set for this model.)
Answer:
I contacted the manufacture for you regarding the size of concrete anchor bolts and they replied with "We do not offer specific anchor bolt recommendations but rather differ to the experts at a local builders supply."
If you wish to place the base on the slab, most customers will pre drill holes every two feet into the base. Then fasten the anchors to the concrete.
If you wish to place the base directly on the ground without a slab, please make sure the base is completly level, dig holes for each corner, attach ground stakes to base, fill holes with concrete mix and water.
