Greenhouse Tips Forum > Plants can't stay alive

This is my first greenhouse, and whenever I put plants in it, they die! We put vents in it and have a thermometer, but after that I have no idea what temp it should be or anything else. Please help before any more plants become victim to my green thumb.

I know that this is a few months after you have posted your question. But I'm hoping that this may help you some. There are 2 books that I would recommend to read as far as understanding the way a greenhouse works. The first one is called Greenhouse Gardening by David Squire. This book came out in 1994. This book is for the gardener who wants to enhance their garden by adding a greenhouse. This book not only helps you choose the right greenhouse to suit your needs it gives advice on equipment, plants, pests, and diseases.

Another book to try reading is Greenhouse Gardener's Companion by Shane Smith. This book also helps you find a greenhouse that may suit your needs. Plus, it also has information that may help you in many ways. It talks about selecting the right plants, propagation, pollination, and what to do when things go wrong.
It also takes a closer look at the plants themselves.

The Greenhouse Gardener's Companion is so full of information that you'll want to keep one in your greenhouse so that you can refer to it if need be.
