Greenhouse Tips Forum > Increse Zone Hardyness?
It would be best if your greenhouse has a long wall facing south with two layers of glazing--insulate the other 3 walls. You'll want to use good quality fiberglass, acrylic plastic or glass for an outer layer. You'll want darker colors for your greenhouse (not necessarily black though) on the outside and a reflective white for on the inside. Extra insulation around the base of the greenhouse as well (go for what's recommended for homes in your area). You need to have both a hearty amount of insulation as well as heat storage material otherwise you lose efficiency.

No heating .No power. Just a plain old greenhouse .Not attached to the house. We get lots of snow here too. Sometimes 4 feet or more. Is glass better than plastic? Any ideas for easy ways to heat the green house through winter. Thanks
