Greenhouse Tips Forum > mist or drip

Hi you guys,
I'm getting ready to set up my new greenhouse and am wondering which is best for watering seedlings and young plants. Should I get a misting system or a drip system?

Imho, drip systems work best for watering seedlings and greenhouse plants; misting systems seem to be best for cooling greenhouse air rather than watering.

Actually you have three choices when you build a "drip system" You can install drippers for larger plants and individual potted plants, micro-sprinklers for beds and flats of seedlings and misters on a separate circuit for greenhouse cooling. Building a system that incorporates all three is not difficult. Check out the following site for a really good tutorial on how to build your own custom system

I beg to differ. I have a misting systems. It waters automatically, 3 times per day. It works just fine for watering the plants, cutting and seedlings. Only problem that I have is it may water a plant too much that does not need much watering.

I have had difficulty with moisture problems if leaves stay too damp. I perfer drip irrigation.
